Better Winch v 1.0.0.1 enhances the winch functionality in Farming Simulator, broadening its use beyond just tree removal. With this mod, players can now utilize the winch to attach and maneuver a variety of objects, including those with trailer-type attacher joints and dynamic items like bales and pallets.
The mod operates by targeting tension belts or collision-enabled shapes designated with the cpu mesh flag. It comes equipped with a small “hard point” attachment shape, which is automatically integrated into several in-game vehicles at trailer attacher locations. This facilitates easy use of the winch on multiple vehicles without extensive modifications.
Furthermore, users have the option to create additional hard points at any location within a vehicle or object’s i3d file, allowing for versatile attachment possibilities. Each of these nodes can be customized with three user-defined attributes:
– thWidth (float): Sets the object’s size along the X-axis.
– thLength (float): Determines the object’s size along the Z-axis.
– thHeight (float): Establishes the object’s size along the Y-axis.
The mod also enables adjustments to the size of the attachment “ring” through two key bindings (right-shift + colon, right-shift + quote).
